Artek Children’s Camp

Artek Children’s Camp is located in a forested, elevated area of Vanadzor, Lori Province. The camp was established in 1968 and, during the Soviet period, welcomed children not only from Armenia but also from various republics of the Soviet Union.

The buildings of the camp were damaged in the 1988 Spitak earthquake, after which the camp was never reopened. Following the collapse of the Soviet Union, the site was gradually abandoned. Today, parts of the former camp complex remain, including several structures, sections of walls, and mosaics that reflect the atmosphere of Soviet-era camp life.
