Achkasar is the highest mountain in northern Armenia, located on the border of the Lori and Shirak regions. The mountain is the highest point of the Kechut ridge with a height of 3196 meters.
The picturesque slopes of Achkasar are covered with volcanic rocks and resemble a grandiose location for a fantasy film. The foothills of Achkasara are rich in meadow vegetation, which is facilitated by the humid climate. At the foot of the ridge, a large number of lakes and streams formed.
Achkasar is the perfect place to hike. The top of the mountain is a lava cone, on the way up to it you will see a variety of landscapes ranging from alpine plains to volcanic chains․
